Archaeologists have recently started to argue that replicating observations and results is key to their science. Dr. Krist Vaesen and Dr. Shumon T. Hussain take a critical look at this emerging debate and argue that replication needs to also serve the diverse knowledge goals of the discipline and should thus not narrow the scope of archaeological inquiry.
