The Zoomorphology of Gestures: Interspecies Learning and Technical Invention in Early Human Evolution (ZOOGESTURES)

New project on the role of other animals in human technological evolution

Together with colleagues from Siegen and St. Andrews (UK), Shumon Hussain receives funding from the VolkswagenFoundation (1.3 million) to lead innovative research at the intersection of multispecies archaeology, the philosophy and anthropology of technology, and primatology to untangle processes of technological learning and innovation in changing multispecies contexts of the deep past
